A short mallet stroke goes a long way next week when faculty and staff take part in a croquet fundraising tournament on University College Hill on Wednesday, August 22 from 2 to 7 p.m. The tournament will support Western Heads East, an award-winning homegrown project providing nutritional support to communities in Africa as a means of building resistance against HIV/AIDS and other diseases. The entry fee of $20 per team (four players per team) will directly support Western Heads East.
Organizers have arranged for trophies and prizes and are encouraging everyone from first-timers to croquet masters to take part. Teams are also urged to wear something unique and colourful so they are identifiable. To register your team, contact Denise Farr at dfarr@uwo.ca or at extension 84564.
