Go Live!

Welcome Contributor Relations! 

After a busy weekend assigning and setting up security we were able to go live this morning March 26th, 2007 with Contributor Relations 8.9:

Although there are a number of post go live tasks to complete we are anxious to move forward in the production environment of Contributor Relations.

Day 6!

At the end of Day 6 we have completed the data validation and all the data is as expected in Contributor Relations.  We are compiling our summary for Internal Audit as we type.  This afternoon the testers were provided the database for destructive testing.  Page by page, process by process we are testing and retesting everything to make sure we are good to go for Monday, March 26th. 

Day 5!

Yippee, Contributor Relations is here.  We were given a two to three hour courtesy window to do all our installations set up tasks as well as set up all our testers security access.  The database was then backed up and given back to us for data validation and destructive testing.  After Day 5 the data validation is almost complete and things are going as expected.  After the data validation is complete and we will give the go ahead for the testers to do destructive testing, which is required before Go Live to make sure all pages, processes, modifications and enhancements have been included in this final version of Contributor Relations.

Day 4!

Day 4 brings us to the completion of the CR 8 to 8.9 upgrade and on to the progression of the post upgrade bundles.  News from our DBA says that the database will be ready for destructive testing Monday morning, 24hours if not more ahead of schedule.  Our DBA did not get much sleep but we are so appreciative for all the many all nighters, and days he pulled to get us here.  Thanks Jason. 

Day 3!

Quite on the upgrade front, no new updates from our DBA, we patiently wait by the computer and phone for news....stay tuned.........

Day 2!

Another full day on Day 2 of the Upgrade.  After 18 hours, the Oracle upgrade has been completed and the 8.0 patches have been applied.  The next 36 hours will bring us to version 8.9.

Day 1!

After Day 1 of the Upgrade to Contributor Relations we have successfully been upgraded from version 7.6 to 8.0.  The preparation work and backup of our current version took approximately 6 hours and the upgrade from 7.6 to 8.0 including data conversion took 36 hours.  Our dedicated Database Analyst reports he is now progressing to the Oracle upgrade and then on to 8.9.  More updates to come.....

So Long Farewell......

Well, today is the day....we say goodbye to our PeopleSoft 7.6 world.  7.6 came into being six years ago, going live in Feb 2003.  Since then and under the care of the Advancement team, 7.6 has blossomed into a well tuned system.  With interfaces and software enhancements envied by many institutions, 7.6 has supported the largest Campaign in Western's history.  Today we say goodbye, she has served us well. 

Final Stages - Dates to Remember

We are in the final stages of the upgrade to Contributor Relations 8.9.  Some important Dates to Remember:

• March 14th 4pm - PeopleSoft 7.6 is forzen, no more online updates
• March 15th to March 25th - PeopleSoft 7.6 is avalaible for inquiry only
• March 26th - Go Live with Contributor Relations 8.9
