Obomsawin, a director at the National Film Board of Canada and member of the Abenaki Nation, is one of Canada's most distinguished documentary filmmakers. Her seminal work, "Kenehsatake: 270 Years of Resistance," explored the 1990 Oka crisis. An officer of the Order of Canada, Obomsawin is also an accomplished singer/songwriter, engraver and print-maker.
