Dorais-Plesko joins Faculty of Health Sciences as Alumni & Development Officer

The Faculty of Health Sciences is pleased to announce the appointment of Catherine Dorais-Plesko as its new Alumni & Development Officer.

No stranger to Western, Catherine joins FHS from the University’s Department of Alumni Relations & Development where she served as Principal Gifts Officer since 2007. She has spent nearly eight years in fund development working not only at Western but also at The Grand Theatre and Orchestra London. In addition to her development background, she spent 10 years as a media relations and communications consultant.

Catherine holds a bachelor’s degree in public relations from Mount Saint Vincent University (Halifax) and is currently completing her MA in Philanthropy and Development at Saint Mary’s University in Minnesota.  In 2009, Catherine received her Certified Fundraising Executive designation, an internationally-recognized professional credential for philanthropic fundraising executives.

“We are delighted to have her join our team,” said Dean Jim Weese. “Her experience and connections to Western made her an ideal candidate for the role.”
