With so many digital methods of getting news and staying on top of current events, do you still read the newspaper or magazines? If so, what attracts you to them?
At Western is a weblog designed to collect your responses to campus news and issues. We will be posting items here from a variety of campus sources and asking for your feedback. Let us know what you think!

I get my news online and on TV. On TV I usually get my news from CNN and some of the local channels as well so that I get an overall perspective.
Sometimes the news can be so depressing.

Honestly I'm quite glued to my computer nowadays. Too much work and I just read new on yahoo. But I think newspapers and magazines are still effective because not all the news is on the computer.. Specially those local ones.

With so many new ways to stay connected, many students opt for online articles over physically opening a newspaper. In this digital age why not just use the quickest medium to get your news: the internet.
Facebook and twitter updates can often link directly to news stories online. This provides access and links to tidbits of information for only things you want to learn about. The news culture seems to be turning into a pick and choose exercise.
These types of social media are attractive because they feed into human curiosity to learn more. Additionally, it is appealing because you can receive instant updates of what is happening in real time.
