Last night was the official start to the 38th annual Great Northern Concrete Toboggan Race. At opening ceremonies all of the competing teams were introduced, and their themes presented. It was great to see each teams creativity, enthusiasm and school spirit.
This morning at 6:00am we all headed out to the buses for Competitor Interaction Day at Nakiska Mountain Resort and the Town of Banff. Today gave us a chance to meet all of the other competitors while participating in many fun activities. The group of our students that went to Banff for the day enjoyed an afternoon with activities like curling, a group scavenger hunt and touring the various sites the town has to offer.
Our other group of students were given the chance to go skiing and snowboarding at Nakiska Mountain Resort. It was a beautiful day on the slopes with lots of sun and warmer temperatures. Here we also had a chance to meet many of our competitors, enjoy the beautiful sights that the Kananaski County has to offer.
Our team had a great day at both locations and we are getting very excited for the Technical Exhibit tomorrow and Race Day on Saturday.
