You are invited!
Nuit Violette emulates Nuit Blanche - a night arts festival put on in larger cities - with a focus on student art and student research on campus.
DATE: Thursday, September 17
TIME: 7:00 p.m. - Midnight
LOCATION: McIntosh Gallery
There is no "formal presentation" per se. The aim of the event is to bring a renewed appreciation for the arts. We also want to give non-arts students the opportunity to learn more about the kind of research that goes on in Arts, Music, and FIMS, and give them a greater understanding of the necessity and importance of arts research.
Art will be centred around the McIntosh Gallery. The tone or feel of the event is fairly casual - attendees will be coming and going throughout the night.
Submitting Your Work
Students who choose to submit their research will have the opportunity to engage in small group discussions with other students attending the event. We ask for them to create a poster so they may have an easier time explaining their research to students with non-arts backgrounds. Students may also submit visual art, or may choose to perform a musical piece or a spoken word poem. For the research submissions, there is no particular theme that students need to follow.
