CAGS invites submissions for concurrent sessions for the 2018 CAGS Annual Conference to be held at the Fort Garry Hotel in Winnipeg, November 6-8.
We welcome proposals that touch on topics that address graduate studies in the 21st century, for example:
- What actions have been taken in rethinking the PhD and are they effective?
- How might changes in population demographics, societal needs, the global and political landscapes impact graduate education and/or vice versa?
- How do we encourage indigenous students to undertake graduate studies?
- How do we address academic bullying?
- How do we address mental health issues among graduate students?
Session leaders are urged to form panels of speakers who can provide a well-rounded discussion and, when possible, offer practical advice and/or clear take-aways. A concurrent session lasts 75 minutes and should reserve sufficient time for adequate discussion and exchange of ideas with participants. Note that student perspectives are welcome.
Please provide a working session title, a brief description, and the name(s) and affiliations of proposed speaker(s). Note that speakers are responsible for the costs of their travel and accommodation. CAGS will make necessary arrangements for audio-visual requirements.
Proposals will be accepted until April 30, 2018.
Please forward proposals and contact information to blawson@cags.ca using "Concurrent session 2018" in the subject line.
