Applications are now being accepted for the 2020 Western’s Ideas for Sustainability and the Environment (WISE) Competition.
The contest, open to Western graduate and undergraduate students, fosters innovative and high-impact ideas that reduce or eliminate today’s most pressing environmental concerns. The outcomes are tangible initiatives that are achievable today or in the near future.
Separate competitions have been established for undergraduate and graduate students. First place in each category will receive a grand prize of $1,500. Second place will be awarded $1,000, and third place will receive $500.
Students are encouraged to develop local solutions to a current environmental problem that may have local, national or global implications. Solutions will be well-reasoned, touch on the three pillars of sustainability, and provide a realistic business case.
Proposals must be submitted before midnight on February 28, 2020.
