The Higher Education Quality Council of Ontario (HEQCO) is seeking up to four full-time, permanent researchers to advance its research and policy agenda. Researchers are primarily responsible for supporting internal qualitative and/or quantitative projects and publications, assisting with projects done in collaboration with external partners, and undertaking other administrative responsibilities as requested.
HEQCO is an agency of the Government of Ontario that brings evidence-based research to the continued improvement of the province‘s postsecondary education system. As part of its mandate, HEQCO provides policy recommendations to the Ministry of Colleges and Universities (MCU) to enhance the accessibility, quality and accountability of Ontario‘s colleges and universities. Current research topics include access to postsecondary education for traditionally underrepresented groups, the enhancement of student learning opportunities and outcomes, and institutional and sector sustainability.
HEQCO researchers will collaborate with colleagues on a range of projects and initiatives using a variety of tools. Training and professional development opportunities may be provided if deemed relevant. Researchers will also bring enthusiasm, curiosity and new perspectives to the organization.
Priority will be given to candidates with experience in the postsecondary education sector, and with backgrounds in evaluation and/or strong qualitative or quantitative research skills.
