This year we have combined the Own Your Future (OYF) May Conference on Teaching and the Great Ideas for Teaching Award to create a unique opportunity for graduate students to share their successes and gain valuable professional development and recognition.
We are still accepting applications to the Own Your Future May Conference on Teaching. Share with your peers what you have learned, what you have tried, and what you aspire to do as a teacher. New for this year, two out of the three conference proposal categories are also eligible for the GIFT Award.
Western graduate students and postdoctoral scholars are invited to submit individual conference proposals for up to three categories of presentations:
- My Great Idea for Teaching: Panel Presentation
- My Great Idea for Teaching: Welcome to My Classroom
- “Pandemic Pedagogy” Creative Submission
Not interested in submitting a proposal? No problem! All graduate students are warmly invited to attend and join one or more conference sessions.
Join us online on Saturday, May 1, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon to celebrate your peers, enhance your teaching skills, set personal goals for growth as an instructor, and connect your TA experiences to your overall professional development as a graduate student.
