Dr. Huijing Wu is a demographer and sociologist who studies important family trends among older adults. She is currently a postdoc in the Department of Sociology at Western.
Families are now increasingly diverse which can mean new challenges with caregiving in older adulthood. Since spouses and children are the primary caregivers supporting older adults, who will care for older adults without close kin? Dr. Wu’s current research examines how prevalent it is for older adults to lack help with personal care, and what predicts lacking help among those who need it. She is examining these questions using survey data from around the world.
Graduate students from all disciplines are welcome to join us for this virtual brown bag. We would love to see you all there! Please RSVP to socevent@uwo.ca.
Feel free to contact socevent@uwo.ca if you require information in an alternate format, or if any other arrangements can make these events accessible to you.
