About the Talk
This talk will focus beyond the existence and application of social media platforms and is based on my current PhD research. This talk aims to create awareness of specific digital competencies, and contribute knowledge about why, and how academics may care for their digital well-being in order to increase their confidence when making decisions about their social media use.

Presenter Bio
Christa Sathish is a final-year PhD candidate in Media Practices at Middlesex University, London. Her research focuses on the professional social media use of UK academics. As an Hourly Paid Academic at Middlesex University, she has been teaching and guest lecturing on Digital Advertising; Digital Marketing; Social Media and Public Relations; as well as Branding to undergraduate and postgraduate students. She started her career in Switzerland in 2001 as a Scientist specializing in Pharmaceutical Research and Development, and then moved to the UK to study Business and Management during her undergraduate and postgraduate education, followed by a move into Media Studies. Christa is an all-round, interdisciplinary researcher and enjoys working with mixed-method research designs.
