Last month, the School of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies (SGPS) hosted over 600 graduate students, along with their families, at a gathering designed to give everyone an opportunity to relax, unwind, and socialize as a group at the Mercato, Brescia University College.
Domestic and international students from our Master's and Doctoral programs shared dinner and dessert, while children had their faces painted and received balloon animals.
Students from Faculties across campus were impressed by the venue, the food, and the overall tone of this first-time event.
Some comments based on an anonymous survey included the following:
"It was an awesome event! Thank you! It is also an important event for students to socialize and connect with different friends and families. That will positively impact our academic journey and allow us to know each other, connect, and share ideas."
"The event was so welcoming and delightful. The communication was effective, and the venue was a perfect fit for the event. I am particularly thrilled because my family had great fun and I am afraid they have started asking for the next edition."
"Loved that I could bring my kids and that there were kid focused activities!"
"I liked the food, and the gathering hall. It was great to reconnect with people I haven't met for a while."
Based on this year's success, and taking into consideration all the excellent feedback we received from students, SGPS plans on hosting similar functions in the future.
Our thanks to everyone who came out to relax and connect!
