The Black Education Fund is ow accepting applications for scholarships.

Thanks to a supportive partnership with Kindred Foundation and other generous donors, this year we are pleased to announce the addition of six NEW Roster Scholarship awards!

Of those scholarships, two will be given to Black students who identify as members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, and four will be awarded specifically to students studying in the area(s) of mental health, health sciences, or sciences.

There will also be five (5) one-time bursaries awarded to selected applicants.

APPLY NOW: Scholarship for Graduate Study in London, England

The London Goodenough Association of Canada (LGAC) invites applications for Scholarships in support of graduate study at Goodenough College in London, England for the 2022-23 academic year.

The scholarship is paid as a credit towards the cost of accommodation at Goodenough College.  The deadline for receipt of all application materials for the 2022-23 academic year is January 21, 2022. Candidates will be notified of the results of their applications in late April, 2022.

REQUEST FOR APPLICATIONS: Parkinson Society Graduate Student Scholarship Program

The Parkinson Society Southwestern Ontario (PSSO) is pleased to announce its Request for Applications, Graduate Student Scholarship Program, June 1, 2021 – May 31, 2022.

The Graduate Student Scholarship Program is a strategic initiative to encourage young scientists to enter the field of Parkinson’s research, and to invest in research and training that offers promise for future work in the area of Parkinson’s disease.  PSSO intends to provide awards in the amount of up to $25,000 CDN to outstanding graduate students who meet the eligibility criteria of the Program and who have been approved by the Program’s Adjudication Committee.  We invite applications from graduate students committed to conducting Parkinson’s research in areas relevant to the treatment of motor and/or non-motor symptoms. This initiative is consistent with, and reflects PSSO’s commitment to support research in the Southwestern Ontario region, and to foster leadership potential in this area.

APPLY NOW: $30,000 Rotary Global Grant Scholarship

The primary consideration of the Global Grant Scholarship Grant is to forge a link between Rotary and future skilled professionals within one of seven areas of focus.

The successful candidate will receive a Global Grant Scholarship, valued at $30 000 USD to fund one year graduate-level study at a university outside of Canada and the United States in 2021-22, leading to a career in one of Rotary’s seven areas of focus.

Rules of Eligibility

Scholarships may not be used for studies that are already underway. Global Grant Scholarship candidates must:

• Have completed an undergraduate degree by the time the scholarship period begins.
• Be citizens of a country in which there is a Rotary club.
• NOT be Rotarians, honorary Rotarians or closely related to a Rotarian. Rotaractors and former youth exchange students are eligible and encouraged to apply- provided they meet all other eligibility criteria.
• Submit an application through a local Rotary club in the applicant’s legal or permanent residence or place of full-time study or employment.
• Live in the host district during scholarship year.
• Be proficient in the native language of the host country.

Who Should Apply?

An ideal Global Grant Scholarship candidate:

• Possesses excellent leadership skills and potential
• Is interested in a field of study that has a direct impact on the humanitarian needs of the world in one of the following seven areas of focus:
  • Peace and conflict prevention /resolution

IMFG Post-Doctoral Fellowship 2019-20: Now Accepting Applications

The Institute on Municipal Finance and Governance (IMFG) at the University of Toronto is now accepting applications for its Post-Doctoral Fellowship for 2019-20.

IMFG focuses on the fiscal health and governance challenges facing large cities and city-regions. The Institute’s mandate is to conduct independent research, spark and inform public debate, and engage the academic and policy communities around important issues of municipal finance and governance.

Every year, IMFG offers a $50,000 Post-Doctoral Fellowship to support researchers who have received their PhD and are continuing their studies.

Fellowship recipients are expected to live in Toronto, Canada while pursuing their research and study, and will have the opportunity to participate generally in the intellectual life of the Munk School of Global Affairs and larger University of Toronto community during the 2018-2019 academic year.

Core responsibilities of the post-doctoral fellow include:

• Preparing an original, full-length research paper as well as a shorter summary of the paper for publication
• Presenting their research as part of two seminars at the Munk School of Global Affairs

Other responsibilities include:

• Planning IMFG conferences, events, or roundtables, in conjunction with IMFG staff
• Preparing research papers for publication
• Developing and/or participating in other IMFG research projects and initiatives
• Providing research assistance and support to the IMFG Director
• The deadline for applications is March 28, 2019.

GRADUATE RESEARCH AWARDS for Disarmament, Arms Control and Non-Proliferation 2018-2019

Four awards of $5,000 are available to Canadian Master’s and/or Doctoral candidates to support the independent research and writing of an academic paper responding to a specific Non-Proliferation, Arms Control and Disarmament (NACD) topic. Awards also include domestic travel support to Ottawa where successful candidates will present their completed papers during a special event at Global Affairs Canada Headquarters on March 7, 2019.
